CES 2017: Casio Unveils WSD-F20 Android Wear Watch

At CES 2017, Casio announced the successor to their 2016 Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10. Enter the new WSD-F20, the latest from the PRO TREK Smart line running Android Wear 2.0. The new WSD-F20 watch houses built-in low power GPS and a dual-layer monochrome display for the display of maps in full color. Created for the outdoors, the watch sports a 50-meter water resistance and a military grade build for environmental durability. And to help keep you from being lost in the outdoors, the WSD-F20’s apps even allow you to download maps in advance and work in areas without cellular or internet connectivity.

The WSD-F20 houses a pressure sensor, compass and accelerometer for use with its included apps such as:

Location Memory – Allows the user to record paths traveled, mark points of interest, and even record corresponding notes using speech recognition.

Activity – Displays measurement data for travel-centric sports such as hiking, cycling, fishing, or snow and paddle sports.

Moment Setter – Allows the user to indicate conditions where alerts of interest appear for the activities like the sports listed above.

Tool – An original app that uses the WSD-F20’s sensors to display real time info on the user’s environment.

Casio Moment Link – An app by Casio that uses the cellular connection and GPS data from a smartphone to track and display the location of group members on the watch. Users can also exchange text messages.

Watch Face Displays

Casio’s new WSD-F20 PRO TREK Smart watch will come with two new standard watch face designs called Location and Traveler. However additional watch face designs for the WSD-F20 can be downloaded and added from the Google Play store. Casio’s new WSD-F20 PRO TREK Smart watch will come in two color skus, orange and black, and will run for $500.

If you’re in the market for a new “swiss army knife” wearable, then keep an eye out for Casio’s WSD-F20 PRO TREK Smart watch, scheduled to be released on April 21, 2017.
