This year’s E3 was filled with tons of games to get excited for. Today we’ll take a look at a few titles featured at SQUARE ENIX’s booth that really stood out to me. One title had fans wondering when, if ever, would it ever see the light of day. Another seeks to conclude a trilogy while my third pick aims to introduce a new audience to unique gameplay while gearing up to announce a sequel. KINGDOM HEARTS IIIShadow of the Tomb Raider, and THE AWESOME ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN SPIRIT are games you should be looking out for this year so let’s check out exactly why.

KINGDOM HEARTS fans have been patiently waiting for any and all details regarding KINGDOM HEARTS III ever since the game was first announced in 2013. During a KINGDOM HEARTS live concert that took place prior to E3, fans finally got a chance to learn that they can get their hands on KINGDOM HEARTS III on January 29, 2019. “With the release set for next January, I apologize for having to ask for a little more time than what was previously announced,” said Director, Tetsuya Nomura. “The entire development team is pouring their love for the franchise into KINGDOM HEARTS III and is striving to create a game that all players will enjoy. We are currently in the last stages of development but will work tirelessly until the end to deliver the very best KINGDOM HEARTS game to date.”†

In addition, Xbox added to the excitement by announcing that KINGDOM HEARTS III will also be playable on the Xbox One in a new gameplay trailer that introduced Frozen as a new world in the game. “In KINGDOM HEARTS III, we are excited that players will have a chance to explore an entirely new adventure set in the world of Frozen,” said Peter Del Vecho, Academy Award®-winning producer, Walt Disney Animation Studios. “It has been such a pleasure to work alongside their creative team to painstakingly recreate the look and feel of our world and watch them bring our beloved Frozen characters to life.”†

During E3 2018, I had the opportunity to play a boss battle level in KINGDOM HEARTS III on the Xbox One X. I was able to see one of the new abilities called “Attractions”. These are visually stunning, powerful magic spells that a player can cast during a battle to fight against the Heartless. “Attractions” call upon Sora’s Disney-Pixar friends and allow you to partner with them for support by summoning theme park inspired attractions as powerful magical attacks that last for a limited amount of time. Just like seeing your favorite Disney-Pixar pals fight alongside Sora, you’ll like seeing your favorite Disney rides come to life as ridiculously powerful attacks on screen.

I’ve already preordered my copy years ago. Seriously. But if you haven’t yet, KINGDOM HEARTS III is now available for digital pre-order on Microsoft Store and PlayStation®Store.
