Ultra Street Fighter IV will being some new faces to the fight bumping the current roster up to 44 playable character. Hugo, Poison, and Rolento from Final Fight have been confirmed alongside Elena from Street Fighter III: New Generation. A fifth addition has been teased but Capcom has kept quite on who the secret character will be. Each character will have their own unique fighting style giving players a chance to try out something new in case they are growing bored with their current main characters. On top of the new additions, the 39 current characters will be undergoing some minor changes. Fan feedback from Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is being used to update character fighting styles and the game’s core mechanics to make what Capcom says will be “the most balanced Street Fighter ever”.
Of course with new characters comes new stages. Six environments are getting added to the stage selection to bring a fresh visual look and add more to the background variety. Pitstop 109, Burn Furnace, Mad Gear Hideout, Cosmic Elevator, Half Pipe, and Jurassic Era Research Facility from Street Fighter x Tekken have made their way into Ultra Street Fighter IV’s stage selection.
Capcom has not yet announced any new modes or features, but there is still time for some addition content to make its way into the final version. Ultra Street Fighter IV will hit the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC early next year. Much like the previous upgrades of Street Fighter IV, current owners of Super Street Fighter IV/Arcade Edition can purchase Ultra for $14.99 from the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, or directly online. Otherwise a full retail version will simultaneously be released for $39.99. Regardless of which version you pick up, Capcom will give you all the previous costume DLC ($40 value) that has been release for Street Fighter IV making Ultra the must-have version of the game.
