The Logitech G403 Prodigy is a beautiful right-handed mouse designed and built for gamers of all ages and skill sets. This mouse is properly priced at $70. The G403 Prodigy has 6 programmable buttons with a 1ms response time which I’ve noticed that any millisecond advantage could mean the difference between killing or being killed. Apart from that, the 16.8 million lighting options simply make the G403 more fun. The Logitech G403 weighs a mere 107g with an option to add a 10g weight depending on your preference. Logitech hasn’t announced if we will be getting more weight adjustments but we’ll keep an ear out for news.
The mouse has a rechargeable battery housed inside it which can be charged via the provided braided USB cable. Even the box is neatly designed and branded. The written manual was missing but there is a picture one which I found a little bit confusing at first glance.
The Logitech G403 Prodigy fits nicely in your palms or your claws, whichever way you prefer. The left and right click buttons are rated at 20 million clicks which is pretty decent. The right and left side of the mouse has a different texture compared to the top. This definitely helped with grip during those longer gaming sessions. The scroll wheel on top is pretty responsive as well.
The Logitech gaming software was easy to install and made customization fun. I was able to tune the mouse to the surface that was being used. I had one setting customized to my couch and it worked well considering the surface. You can change the colors of the LED to any color within the 16.8 million color palette. I played around with a few colors and ended up with orange. Don’t ask me why. The Color Select and Breathing effect added a nice touch. The gaming software provides a heat map feature, where one can see what buttons are being used the most. This is a handy feature for understanding how you operate the mouse, potentially convincing to change the programmable keys to better fit your needs.
While playing Starcraft 2 with the Logitech G403 Prodigy, I was able to harness the power of the customizable 12000 dpi. You can also switch between multiple profiles easily while playing. Features like that are great for finding the optimal way to construct pylons or depots or overlords, depending on the race you play. I also really felt the quality in performance and boost in accuracy thanks to the 1ms response time while playing CS GO.
As I said earlier, there’s a thin line between winning and losing while playing. In that regard, the Logitech G403 Prodigy is a good gaming mouse that does not break the bank which I happily would suggest to others.
