THE REAL BIRTH OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

THE REAL BIRTH OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

The Story: Most music scholars will agree that Elvis Presley invented rock ‘n’ roll with his legendary 1954 Sun recording of “That’s All Right Mama.” The Truth: It was actually a teenager named Marty McFly who, under the guise of “Calvin Klein” who singlehandedly invented rock ‘n’ roll with his breathtaking performance of “Johnny B. Goode.” Marvin Berry proceeded to steal that song and sell it to his cousin Chuck, The rest is history. This...

Royal Flush Timewarp!!!

Royal Flush Timewarp!!!

Many of you might be very much unaware that the Royal Flush Gang formed many a year ago back in the olden days of 1994. This could very well be one of the first media collaborations and possibly the birth of the most devastating team-up since the WWF’s Heart Foundation. Here we find Royal Flush grand-master Josh Bernstein and his long time partner in punishment, Erik Rodriquez as they put they smack down on a...

Transformers

Transformers

I finally saw the Transformers movie. It’s amazing how they could turn a cartoon that was designed to sell toys into a movie that in the end is designed to sell more toys! I heard a now drunk and fat He-Man will be starring in a reality show with his wife She-Ra where she nags him about how she could’ve married “Greyskull” money. – Paul Cress

Be All That You Can Be…

Be All That You Can Be…

The Army needs to quit tricking kids into enlisting. It’s bad enough the Army lurks around high school cafeterias creeping everyone out (and putting me off my tater tots!) but now they have these commercials that paint the Army as some sort of learning annex in camouflage. “You too could learn skills that last a lifetime” (or a month, depending on where your stationed.) Or they paint it as a video game, but they don’t...

Rush Hour Three Karate Chops the Competition

Rush Hour Three Karate Chops the Competition

America enjoys repetition. People want the same thing everywhere you go: When you travel to even the far reaches of the earth, there’s always a McDonald’s. In 2004, people screamed for change and Bush still got re-elected. And now people flock to Rush Hour three to see the same movie they saw in 1998 and 2001. I suppose people enjoy seeing two races come together by insulting another race. Ahh France, the last bastion of...

Brann Dialor of Mastodon

Brann Dialor of Mastodon

Who are you wearing?
“I’m wearing a pair of levis and some vans. I’m wearing a beige shirt and a lucky jacket. That’s what I’m really wearing, well, underneath is all Fredrick’s of Hollywood. I have a map of Japan on the back of my luggage jacket. So people behind me know where they’re at…when I’m in Japan.”

Favorite comicbook?
“I have recently been getting into the Alejandro Jodorowsky comic books, which are comic books for sophisticated people, (laughs) which I’m not, but… They’re more graphic novels, ya know? But those are pretty cool; they’re all psychedelic and weird, they make for good bathroom reading and I really love his movies.

Favorite Pro-Wrestler?
“I was that one kid in school who was like, it’s fake, I don’t like it. Everyone was like, “it’s not fake!” I was almost drawn into fistfights at school. I never liked any of that stuff. I was gay as a child and grew up to be straight. It’s rare that that happens; usually it’s the other way around. I liked Hulk Hogan because he was in the Rocky movie and those were real so…you know what I mean. It was, the ultimate man vs. the ultimate meatball! You can quote me on that. The meatball being Sylvester Stallone.”

BOB DYLAN GOES ELECTRIC, ANGERS BRITISH FOLKIES!

BOB DYLAN GOES ELECTRIC, ANGERS BRITISH FOLKIES!

The Story: While on tour in Manchester, England, legendary folk singer Bob Dylan played his first electric concerts outside of the U.S. Longtime Dylan fans felt betrayed by his switch to electric rock and let him know that he was considered a traitor. As heard on many famous bootlegs, a fan loudly berated Dylan with the taunt of “Judas.” The Truth: The recordings don’t lie; a man clearly shouted “Judas” at the stage. But what...
