Who knew that Fall ’17 would be known as ‘Smartphone Announcement Season’. Earlier this October, ZTE announced the Axon M and today Razer revealed the Razer Phone and shortly after that HTC will reveal their latest offering. However, today is all about Razer. What can we expect from a phone created by folks that know how to make high performance gaming products and peripherals?

Razer Phone will feature the world’s first 120Hz Ultramotion™ Display, meaning that scrolling through apps and webpages is ultra smooth. Ultramotion™ ensures that the refresh rate is on par with what is being displayed while optimizing battery life. It is the first phone certified by THX, housing dual front-facing speakers, each with a dedicated amp and powered by Dolby Atmos.

It’s also the world’s first phone to feature Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+ and a 4000 mAh battery. Devices that have QuickCharge 4.0+ have the potential to charge up to 15 percent faster, or 30 percent more efficiently when compared to devices that use Quick Charge 4. And finally, we see a phone with a 8GB DDR4 RAM, 64GB UFS Internal Storage and up to 2TB maximum of external storage via microSD.

For a closer look, we’ve included a video from our friend at BooredAtWork below to help illustrate the phone features.

While most might be quick to categorize this phone as a gaming phone, we’d like to stress that the Razer Phone is a phone for people who want a powerful device, which so happens to be one that you can game on. This is just a launchpad to showcase what Razer can do in the smartphone space. It promises to be a powerhouse and there’s a lot of tech here to get excited about. Touting great technical efficiency, this phone is aimed to be a great entertainment smartphone.
