Vinyl Sugar actually began with Vinyl Idolz. Funko was looking for a way to create a platform for the creation of high quality vinyl products. They worked with an ad agency called Evil Corp, based out of London, which used to use these figures in their ads. All it took was one of Funko artist to discover the figures online. They started to question where one could buy these figures but the truth was that all the figures used within the Evil Corp ads were digital. No one had ever thought to created them. After a lot of back and forth, Funko decided to just give them the platform, produce it, and manufacture it so that Funko can just let Evil Corp do what they do best: Be creative.

That’s how Vinyl Idolz came to be. It’s collaborative work with a company that Funko really respects. As you can see in the gallery below, there are a bunch of characters – some of which we never have seen toys created for. Funko is focusing on more fringe and cult classic films like Dodgeball, Seinfeld, Napoleon Dynamite, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
