When it comes to laptop bags, Case Logic’s LoDo Satchel† gets high marks in my eyes. This spacious bag is perfect for any working professional as well as being stylish enough to make it an excellent school or travel companion.
The LoDo Satchel features a menagerie of pockets that can comfortably fit a 15″ MacBook Pro® or laptops with up to a 14’’ display as well as provide iPad® or 10.1” tablet storage. The thick padded laptop compartment ensures that any laptop you’re carrying in the LoDo Satchel is safe and secure. While I’m not one to take both a laptop and tablet with me, I did notice that the tablet sleeve is not as padded as the laptop compartment. However, since the tablet sleeve is right next to the laptop compartment, so I can see how the thick padding can add some protection to a tablet as well. Shown below, you can see what I mean.
The most unique feature within the LoDo Satchel is the wide mouth opening which provides easy access to anything contained within the bag. There is a sturdy wire frame that keeps the bag from flopping around and ensures that you are able to comfortably search and retrieve items from within the bag. But the accessibility doesn’t end there. There are external pockets where you can place other smaller items that you’d like to quickly retrieve without having to go into the main compartment. These two outer pockets have a magnetic snap-closure with one of these pockets containing an extremely convenient key holder. Now it goes without saying, I wouldn’t use these pockets to hold anything important since the magnetic snap-closures are not that strong to prevent someone else from possibly stealing what may be in the outer pockets.
The LoDo Satchel has a cotton canvas exterior which held up pretty well against the recent wet weather in New York City. While the exterior is a cotton canvas, the interior is lined to protect your tech in case any water leaks in from the canvas. The only drawback is that the canvas attracts lint and feathers like a magnet so I would say to be prepared to run a lint roller over the bag if the lints becomes to much to bear.
Overall, the LoDo Satchel is super comfortable to carry around and is definitely going to be my go-to bag for convention travel throughout the year. There are more than enough pockets to have a place for everything as well as protection for your tech essentials. At only $89.99, this is a definite recommendation in my book.
