The ultimate blow to a collector…
Remember that Limited Batmobile Edition of Arkham Knight that I told you about way back when? If you jumped at the chance to preorder it at your favorite retailer, they unfortunately will have to let you know that it has been just recently cancelled. With just days left to the launch of one of the most anticipated games of the year, Warner Bros. has pulled the plug on this edition citing issues with the transformable Batmobile. In a statement released by Warner:
We regret to inform you that we are not able to release the Batmobile Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of this extremely limited run of product. We are deeply apologetic for this unfortunate outcome. If you did pre-order the Batmobile Collector’s Edition, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the product and you will receive a full refund of your deposit or it can be rolled over to another Batman: Arkham Knight edition or another product of your choice. We will be providing everyone who purchases Batman: Arkham Knight with the New 52 skin pack, including Batman, Robin and Nightwing, free of charge.
On the bright side, everyone who purchases the game will get the “exclusive” digital extras , and retailers are offering full refunds for the product, or the option to switch to a standard edition.
It is definitely upsetting to have them pull the plug on something this big so close to launch, but at least the game it self is still on schedule for release next Tuesday June 23rd.
Batman: Arkham Knight is rated M for Mature and will be available on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One
