Ladies and gentlemen, this may be it. This may be one of the best Gaming Headsets that I have ever had the privilege to use. For the last week I’ve been putting the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset to the test and I am excited to say it really delivered.
It’s been a while since Logitech came out with a hard hitting, gaming headset and now I see what they’ve been working on. First of all this headset is beautiful. It’s futuristic, black design allows you to customize the lighting to whatever suits your mood. Using their Logitech software, you are able to choose not only the color from the over 16 million color options, but also the lighting pattern. There are two zones on the headset around each ear cup that you are able to individualize, or synchronize depending on how froggy you’re feeling that day. A nice feature Logitech added to the G633 Artemis Spectrum was the ability to fold the microphone into the headset so if you are using this headset while on the go with your iPod nobody will know that you are actually rocking a gaming headset.
I’ve played around with dozens of headphones and gaming headsets to see what works best for me. When gaming on my PC, I like to stream so sound is very important to me. Generally, I use studio headphones and a stand-alone microphone to capture everything perfectly. This set up is totally not necessary with the G633 Artemis Spectrum. The 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound delivers everything that my high-end studio headphones do…and then some. If you are an audiophile, or a Call of Duty Ninja you are going to love the sound. Footsteps, gun fire, and in game conversation has never sounded so good from a gaming headset. Most home theaters in your media room are only 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound, which is even more impressive that Logitech was able to create a gaming headset with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound. When put to the test of watching a movie on my computer, the Artemis G633 passed with flying colors. This headset puts my surround sound in my house to shame. When you download the Logitech Software you can actually create profiles for a different games, movies and music with the easy to use Equalizer.
Comfort is key when it comes to a gaming headset. To me it doesn’t matter how nice a headset sounds if I don’t find it to be comfortable. The Artemis G633 gets another passing mark for comfort. I’ve done some heavy streaming with this headset to ensure that after several hours it wouldn’t be hurting my head, or putting pressure on my ears like other headphones/headsets have done. So far I have no complaints about the comfort. The over ear cups on this headset are the perfect size to prevent the from sliding around, or crushing my sensitive ears.
Much like any other piece of hardware Logitech puts together, they know what gamers want and it’s more programmable buttons! Using the Logitech Software you are able to create macros with the buttons placed on the back of the left ear cup. Just like the coloring, and the sound you can create profiles based on game, or what media you are currently using. Below the buttons they also included a volume control where you can easily lower the volume when the misses is yelling at you from the other room without having to take the headphones off or minimizing the game to turn the volume down.
The best part about the G633 Artemis Spectrum’s is that they are made for more than just the PC! You can use these bad boys on teh X-Box One and the PS4. The headset includes a 3.5mm audio jack right next to the micro usb jack which allows you to use them on other devices, or as your new go-to pair of headphones while you are rocking out to your favorite tunes. The packaging includes both the micro-usb to usb cable as well as a 3.5mm audio cable. Up until now I had a different headset for my PC Gaming, and my console gaming which makes absolutely no sense. The world is now a much better place by allowing me to use one amazing headset for all of my gaming/media needs.
Overall I am very impressed with the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum. This is an absolute ‘BUY’ in my book! The quality of sound and comfort easily holds it’s own against my current gaming headsets, that lack 90% of the features the Artemis G633 has. I suggest you treat your ears to this headset immediately. You deserve to hear your games they way the game developers wanted you to hear their games. You can get this headset right now from Amazon for a mere $149.99 which is a steal for a headset packed with all of the functional, and cosmetic features that the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum has!
Alright boys and girls hope you enjoyed my review of the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset. I’d like to tank GamerGal and Doublejump for the great pictures!
