Mad Catz M.O.J.O Gaming Console and Others

Mad Catz was showcasing their latest in gaming peripherals today at CE Week in NY. S.T.R.I.K.E 3 and 7 Keyboards were present, chocked full of features you’d expect of a gaming keyboard and other features that would grab any gamer’s attention. Also showcased was their new Arcade Stick to launch for the XBox One. But their latest eye-popper was not a peripheral. It was their new Android-powered gaming console, the M.O.J.O. It would be interesting to see the thing in action, wouldn’t it? A live demo and walk-through of the system right here with Mad Catz’s Alex Verrey will do just fine…

The S.T.R.I.K.E 7 keyboard (mechanical) has quite a unique build to target the PC gamer striving to customize their layout. There a right-side panel that houses function keys and a numpad is detachable. Also detachable is their signature LED touch-screen display the Venom which handles everything from the programming of macros, full RGB color adjustment of the keyboard’s back lighting, to external auxiliary controls whilst in-game. One can also adjust the palm and wrist rests of the various components. The S.T.R.I.K.E 7 will run you for $299 and the younger S.T.R.I.K.E 3 will go for $200.

At the utmost least, Mad Catz has been known for their fighting game pads, controllers, and sticks. I probably own one for each of the generations of consoles myself as the standard console controller never really hit home with a fighting game enthusiast as myself. The Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition 2 is Mad Catz’s “strike-first” contribution to the fighting realm of the Xbox One. Slated to be released “Holiday 2013”, it promises comfort and precision, and that authentic arcade feel in your own home. The price has not yet been announced, but there are few arcade stick price points that would stop a fighting game obsessor from reaching for their wallet.

Okay, now that you read through that peripheral coverage, it’s time to talk M.O.J.O.! Mad Catz announced their very compact Android gaming console designed to work with Mad Catz’s suite of gaming peripherals, most specifically their head-lining wireless gaming controller C.T.R.L R. Sporting BlueTooth 4.0, Mad Catz boast seamless and latency-free gameplay between the controller and this tiny box. M.O.J.O. will also allow you to connect other standard input peripherals that do not necessarily have to be by Mad Catz specifically. It’s also worth mentioning that the bundled C.T.R.L. R Blue Tooth controller is also usable with any Android tablet or smartphone as well as a PC. Expected to be a powerhouse with… let’s just Alex Verrey talk about it, yes?
