San Diego Comic Con 2012 Lost Footage – “Injustice: Gods Among Us”

Over the coming days I’ll be digging deep into my archives and sharing some content that I might have overlooked direct from San Diego Comic Con 2012.

Today let’s dig into some “Injustice: Gods Among Us” gameplay featuring Superman, Flash, Harley Quinn and Nightwing. They are two separate battles both showcasing the important role the environments have within the game. The game isn’t totally focused on brute strength that often comes from the character’s moves; instead the game takes advantage of the environment to deal a ton of damage on your foes.

At first, you have to step aside and brush away all you know about Mortal Kombat. Why? Well, since NetherRealm Studios worked on Mortal Kombat, it’s unmistakeable that the art direction and gameplay is similar but Injustice: Gods Among Us is definitely different. It’s a little more forgiving than Mortal Kombat and more welcoming to someone, like myself, who might only mash buttons during fighting games. The environments are engrossing and the combat is just as fun. Competitive players might have to do some adjusting to get their head around the fighting system but it’s easy to see how an environment would be able to even the odds between two players.

Below is the latest trailer from the Tokyo Game Show as well as all the screenshots I happened to have handy.
