“Every 60 Seconds” is back! Mtn Dew®, Doritos® and Xbox have teamed up with Joel McHale, comedian and avid gamer, to bring us the first-ever Drop Zone. The Drop Zones are a series of augmented reality events taking place this weekend (11/10/17 through 11/12/17) in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago where players will compete for the chance to win the new Xbox One X. Anyone who is interested in learning more can visit www.Every60Seconds.com or download the Drop Zone app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Players are also able to register to participate in Drop Zone via the website or app as well.
Drop Zone locations can be found at www.Every60Seconds.com. Players should have the Drop Zone app installed and should be registered to participate via the app. Log into the Drop Zone app and head to the check-in desk at located in the geo-fenced area on your map at the specified date and time. Once the game starts, get to the Xbox One X drop location on your map. Upon capturing an Xbox, players must try to defend their console against others by either avoiding them or using special power-ups to help you get away. Free power-ups drop every 60 seconds during the game but participants should be able to enter codes from specially marked Doritos® and Mtn Dew® products to bank points and buy epic power-ups to aid in either capturing or defending the Xbox.
In case you are interested in participating in a Drop Zone, I have a few tips for you:
- Whenever you capture a console, don’t run. Pretty much don’t do anything suspicious. That’s an obvious signal.
- Power-ups are critical. The more power-ups you grab, the quicker they level-up. Try to avoid using power-ups until later on in the game where everyone is going to be focused on capturing a console before time runs out.
For those who are unable to participate in a Drop Zone can have another chance to win a new Xbox One X. Mtn Dew and Doritos’ are also holding “Every 60 Seconds” online auctions where fans can bank points through on-pack codes for a shot at winning the new console.
