We are back this month with another Slam Crate from WWE. Last time around they took us on a “Road to WrestleMania” and on this stretch we will be looking at what they are deeming as “The Masters of the Mic”. If you ever watch WWE, they primary focus on two things, wrestling skills which is of most importance but they also look at mic skills. They want to see that you are able to carry yourself, roll with the crowd and dish out dirt to your opponents if necessary.
Even if you never watched a day of wrestling you most likely heard of the Rattlesnake aka Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin is known as one of the best to ever pick up a mic and has talked down folks ranging from the Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon to who can forget showdowns with celebrities such as Iron Mike Tyson before WrestleMania XIV. If you want to see where he hit his rise to fame take a look at “King of the Ring 1996”. With the figurine, we get a design that embodies Stone Austin with the denim shorts, vest and even a can of beer in hand. Also, included with this figure is a mini sized ring. Easy for you to get on the turnbuckle and give someone the fingers.
Now, of course, you can talk the talk without the most important thing which is a mic. Here we have two plastic cups that feature the usual WWE microphone and also Enzo Amore’s custom leopard print mic which he always has on-hand. Ever since the days of NXT, Enzo with Cass have gone on to talk and dish out some of the most buzzworthy trash talk in WWE. They always have the crowd on their side to call someone they don’t mess with SAWFTTTTT.
The exclusive Slam Crate T-Shirt comes from the Demon King known as Finn Balor. Finn isn’t really known for talking you down on the mic but lets his agile and incredible ring abilities do the talking. The tee is all black with insignias of symbols he is known to have painted on when he becomes the Demon.
Nothing is better than talking the talk but also having a championship belt around your waist to make your words even more credible. This month Slam Crate has an enamel pin designed after the Universal Championship which is exclusive to the Monday Night Raw brand. Since its creation around Summer Slam it’s only been held by four superstars with those being Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Goldberg and the current title holder Brock Lesnar.
Last but not least is a mini booklet giving insight at some of the best to do it on the mic. Some stars as I mentioned like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Owens, and others you are sure to recognize like Ric Flair, John Cena, Roddy Piper and one of my favorites Y2J aka Chris Jericho.
